Studio of Digital & Experimental Printing

Prof. Aleksandra Janik
Asst. Wojciech Kolacz

The purpose of education in the studio is to develop the skills of selecting and using graphic arts that enable the expression of ideas and artistic problems. The major focus is on the issue of form and idea in a digital image, as well as the acquisition of skills and the deepening of knowledge of using digital printing technology in artistic creations. The distinctive feature of the studio is the coexistence of traditional printmaking techniques with new technologies: photochemical methods of image transfer, eco printmaking, graphic arts in installations, and experimental printmaking. The curriculum structure encourages freedom of individual decision-making and creative action-taking. Practical training is supplemented not only by lectures on the theory of contemporary printmaking, but also on techniques and technologies of electronic image recording, production and reproduction.
