Inspiration of the ‘Muyu’series of works is from wood, and from fish which are the nature of two seemingly unrelated organisms, one living in the water and one in the earth. The two were incorporated as a whole to express a biological change. Similar to the author's own constantly changing environment, she left her familiar places to go to a new environment in order to change herself. But this also reflects a common characteristic, we are constantly adapting to new environments while engaging in active or passive self-change. In the self-change we change many things at the same time, but we also to change the environment. I personally do not like change either active or passive, , so I added the dead wood element to show a peaceful struggle. Meanwhile the fish, the symbol in traditional Chinese culture is a symbol of people, in the ‘Book of Songs’ in it is a symbol of women. One can identify himself with fish and people in today's society, while also alluding to the change in the social status of Chinese women. And wood is a symbol of an ideal. Changes in this narrative also led to my thinking about this contradictory change of active and passive. What value does it have exactly? It is useless?After all, you must return to your roots as a starting point. Man is an animal and belongs to nature. These works of art are the expression of the author's own emotions. I hope they also give the viewer many thoughts. The image itself is the author’s of a way of thinking and her attitude, but the viewer, inspired by the works shown may have different ideas than the author and this excess analyzation.

In thework I sought to create a mood, the atmosphereis quiet and contradictory,the audience must use their own cultural background to interpret the meaning, perhaps it will be more of an interpretation of the work’s cultural background in the East. But Eastern and Western cultural differences also work to bring another cultural meaning. I am seeking the cultural diversities while I am exploring my own languages of painting. I also insist that the multiplex methods and concepts to happen simultaneously with the unification of technique and framework. Some attempts with new material were applied in my glass installation work Duck, which was combining printmaking with glass to better represent water as an obscure object through the quality of glass. Women represented as a kind of water were endowed with additional characteristics without losing the meaning of fish.

I believe the process of printmaking is not only a painting method but also a way of thinking either to say it is a sort of logic. The indirect method of creating does not limit our thoughts, it brings more possibilities. This is as well a necessary element of artistic creation.
